Some say the best way to learn is by example. That is certainly the case for Sustainable Princeton's unique "housewarming" tour scheduled for this Saturday, June 25. Don't be fooled: The focus won't be on furnishings or architecture. Rather, the tour will visit three residences and study attics, basements, and fireplaces in search of energy leaks. Accompanying the tour will be Herrontown Builders and AmeriCorps Energy Service representatives to help attendees complete their checklists of improvements homeowners can make to reduce energy use. The tour begins at 9:45 a.m. to 38 Carnahan Place, home of Heidi Fichtenbaum, an LEED-certified architect and continues to 111 Jefferson Road, home of Thomas Onder, at 11 a.m. The tour concludes at 56 Wheatsheaf Lane, home of Diane Landis and Bobby Hackett, and 12:30 p.m. All are welcome, and all should come. This tour is literally teaching you how to save money for free!
