This Block Party Is No Act

McCarter Theater's summer block party on August 24 is the real deal. This community-wide event will kick off the 2011-12 season in style on the Matthews Theater front lawn. The Philadelphia Jazz Orchestra performs live, while Fred Astaire Dance Studio leads the audience in dancing along. Come with a full stomach because there will be a veritable feast on hand, including fresh food from Carter & Cavero, Chez Alice, elements, Mediterra, Olsson's Fine Foods, and Uncle Louie G's Italian Ices. Beer, wine, and other beverages will be available at a cash bar. Grown-ups can win prizes and tickets, and kids will be thoroughly entertained by Greek mythology games, spin art, face painting, and activities with jaZams.
